While supplies last, get a free Dan’s Comp tank top with the purchase of the Dan’s Comp edition Etnies Brake shoes! The Brake is designed for BMX use with a dual durometer outsole that is more durable in the toe and heel areas most effected while riding brakeless. Dan’s Comp team rider Nathan Williams had a ton of input in the Brake and the Dan’s Comp edition is made of a premium, full grain leather for a soft feel and durability with Dan’s Comp branding throughout. brett banasiewicz at the ASA triples
July 30th, 2012
Check out this wild video from this weekend’s ASA Triples Event in California. Dan’s Comp team rider Brett Banasiewicz throws down some crazy ones, including a 1080 and some super dialed (and high!) Cash Rolls. Not sure of the final result, but presumably, Maddog took second place.
stevie churchill takes second at Woodward jam!
July 30th, 2012
Congratulations to Dan’s Comp team rider Stevie Churchill for taking second at the big jam at Woodward West this weekend. Stevie had some flight issues, showed up a full day later than originally planeed and right before the Street segment of the contest started. Stevie shrugged off the jetlag and went straight to work for second place! Stevie’s team took second overall as well. Nice work!

chase dehart’s signature butter frame from cult!
July 27th, 2012
Cult has been making big waves in BMX since it’s inception a couple years back with it’s team, videos, raw product offering and cool, minimalist image. Chase Dehart joined the Dan’s Comp team last year but has been part of Cult from the start. Chase’s signature Butter frame is out now and is a seemingly natural continuation of the Cult product line. Here’s what he had to say about his new frame:
“The Butter frame is simple. Since the new Cult frames were all coming in taller stand over sizes (8.75″ and 9″ tall) and I’m pretty stubborn about change, I wanted to keep a smaller stand over, so I went with 8.5″. We used straight bend chain stays so the frame is a bit stiffer and all around we used thicker-walled tubing so the tubing is much stiffer and seems to be much harder to dent and has a solid feel. Another difference is that the Butter frame comes in not-your-average TT sizes–we went in between each traditional TT size with 20.4, 20.65, 20.9, 21.15. We also did embossed seat stay bridges and kept it pretty traditional with our other frames. Again, we want to make minor changes to give more options. All of our frames have the look and feel we want geometry wise, so now we’re just working on small details on the different frames to fit each rider: Top tube sizes, stand overs, etc. making them all different in some way, without compromising the geometry the team likes. That’s about it. Ha ha.”
What is Butter all about? You have the crew, the blog, and now the frame:
“Butter came about just between me and my friends, I bought a camera so we would film, but none of us had any clue how to use it. We had nothing to really do with the footage since it wasn’t up to filming par for most companies, so we we made a mix-tape with it and a site. From there, it grew into me and my friends just being psyched to have our own little project, something we could pick up and put down as we went, and it just grew from there. Now, we have shirts, stickers, wax, web edits, just whatever we can get our hands on in our free time. There will be more to come! Thanks for the support and thanks Cult for all their help making it something.”
Here’s a new edit with Chase on the Butter, putting in work with some of his Jersey area homies:
Dakota Roche joined the Dan’s Comp team earlier this year and this wild new edit from Vital BMX puts the official stamp on it! Dak epitomizes power and style with so many “What did he just do?” moments that this is one you will watch multiple times for sure. Wow.
Congratulations to the ten winners of the Quintin Instant Contest: Dylan Hansen, Shawn Nguyen, Robert Canales, Owen Gurule, Brandon Frijas, Josh Merrill, Robert Goddard, Josh Fitzgerald, Mariano Leonczik and Sam Sackmann each win a Quintin Large Hit hat, courtesy of Quintin and Dan’s Comp!
Just in time for the Olympics, the Nike USA limited edition collection is in stock at Dan’s Comp! The Nike USA clothing was designed as a reflection of the Nike USA Olympic BMX team uniforms with a classic look and modern, technical features. For example, the Nike USA Dri Fit Slugger and Pocket Tee have a wicking quality that brings the moisture of sweat to the outside of the shirt and away from your body. The Nike FZ Hoody is a heavyweight fleece zip hoody with embroidered “Eagle clutching the BMX bars” graphic and the Nike USA Packable Jacket is just that–Fold it up and put in in your backpack for a rainy day in London during BMX racing time trials! Don’t hesitate on this gear, it’s going to go quick and it’s super limited edition.
Check these new edits from Tioga for their tires. Tioga is a pioneer of modern BMX tires with the legendary Comp III dirt tires and this trails edit is in the true spirit of knobby-tired radical ripping. The Street Block edit with FBM team dude Kenny Horton is nutso!
